RARE! George V Silver Running Hounds Menu Holders by James Dixon & Son 1921 – Four hounds in all.

Exquisite and intricate detail! Fully hallmarked on the front including three more hallmarks on each one. ‘JD&S’ were one of our finest Silversmiths dating back to the beginning of the 1800’s in Sheffield. 

Substantial. Total weight 117gms. Virtually the same weight as a silver hunting horn!

Finest craftsmanship, detail and build quality. Four running hounds in all. Fit for the finest dining table.

J Dixon & Sons (James Dixon & Sons) founded 1806 in Sheffield, was one of the major British manufacturers in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century. They were a world leader in manufacturing shooting accessories through nineteenth century. Victorian and Edwardian dinner tables would create hand written menus to place onto exquisite holders such as these.
